Locomotive NS series 1200 with number 1217 at full speed with the train near Breukelen on April 23, 1995. Locomotives of this class were designed by Baldwin and a total of 25 machines were built by Werkspoor (Utrecht) between 1951 and 1953. The electrical parts were made by Heemaf (Hengelo) to a design by Westinghouse. Some components, such as bogies or parts of electrical equipment, were made in the United States under the Marshall Plan. The 1200 series locomotives were in service from 1951 until 1998
